Bangladesh is one of the world’s poorest nations, with floods and cyclones regularly devastating overpopulated regions.

There is little in the way of infrastructure and education, with little hope for improvement given the corruption and power struggles at the political level. Poverty is rife, and almost half the population live on less than $1 per day.

Churches have been growing at an encouraging rate, particularly in Hindu areas. However, trained leaders are hard to come by. There are also many unreached people groups in both Hindu and Muslim regions.

How to pray

  • For that the growth of the church to continue and accelerate
  • Ask that God would comfort and protect those living in desperate poverty, and provide them with means of hearing the gospel
  • For a change at the political level, to bring about a government intent on acting justly and raising living standards
  • For evangelists holding out hope to those in spiritual and material need
