As the war in the Middle East continues to dominate the headlines, our reading is filled with stories of destruction, pain and suffering. Yet even amid the chaos, God is at work, transforming lives for His glory.

Dawood is a young Muslim man from Iraq. Like many others, his journey did not begin with a dramatic event, but with a simple message, shared faithfully and lovingly. Through personal conversation, the message of salvation was explained to him step by step.

He was then sent an evangelistic film, along with testimonies of people whose lives have been transformed through faith in Christ.

He also received a link to the gospel and an invitation to respond through the words of a simple prayer.

Dawood prayed that prayer, and later shared these wonderful words: “I believe in Christ.”

As he watched more of the videos and other materials, his hunger only grew. Soon afterwards he said, “I want to come to church.”

Praise God that He is clearly at work in Dawood’s life. He has expressed a deep desire to move forward in his faith, and our partners are in contact with him, encouraging him in this new season of his life.

PRAY WITH US

• That Dawood’s faith would continue to grow.
• That he would be protected in a region often hostile to Christians.
• That the Holy Spirit would guide him step by step on this journey with Jesus.
