The gift of God’s Word changes lives in Myanmar.
Naw Flower was born in a village in Myanmar, but now lives in the jungle. She became a Christian aged 25 and dreamt of reading God’s Word, but there were no Bibles available. When the Burmese military viciously attacked her village, Naw Flower’s community escaped to the jungle. Life became desperate, with no hope for the future. Tragically, within three months, 15 young people ended their lives.

Everything changed, however, when their pastor visited the city and returned with free Bibles from our partners. The group began reading Scripture every day, and God met them with hope.
“All the people’s sorrows and crying words transformed to SINGING AND PRAISING GOD through reading the Bible… Now, our jungle camp is full with joy and every family is praising God and reading the Bible in their bamboo house every night.”
The people have constructed a simple bamboo church, where they praise God together. Even the soldiers who bring food and cooking oil have expressed amazement at the people’s joy. As Naw Flower says, “All our faces are smiles and we are happy even though we have lost everything… All this happiness filled our hearts through reading the Bible.”
