One believer’s step of faith is training a new generation to reach Uxbekistan’s Muslims.
Despite immense social pressures and dangers, one young Uzbek believer felt a deep burden for Muslims in his area, especially with few believers willing to risk persecution to reach them. ‘J’ decided to take a bold step of faith and set up a six–week training course on evangelism to Muslims, supported through your donations. He went into this feeling his inadequacy and knowing there could be trouble. However, a group of ten believers met over a meal and the sessions began positively. “We learned together, prayed, ate, and shared stories… people responded well to me and to what I was teaching.”
During the second meeting, however, the police arrived. In alarm, ‘J’ considered stopping the gatherings. Nevertheless, no harm was done and the participants continued to attend. Despite fear and fatigue, ‘J’ persevered. He said, “This taught me to trust God more. I realised that difficulties are part of ministry and that growth is impossible without them. In the end I felt gratitude: despite my weaknesses, God brought this project to completion.”
‘J’ now hopes to build a team to reach young people through sports and practical ministry. Please pray that God will move powerfully amongst those around him!
