How our partners are reaching out amid people’s pain in Myanmar.
Hsar lives in a camp for internally displaced persons (IDP’s) on the very edge of Myanmar. She has been there for five years after fleeing her home village when the Burmese soldiers invaded. She has no idea whether her home still exists or whether it was destroyed. Her children, all married and with their own families to care for, are scattered across a number of other IDP camps far away from their mother. She has not seen them for a long time, other than her youngest daughter who remains with her in the difficult daily life of the camp.

Years of constant worry and anxiety about the safety of her family have taken a toll on Hsar’s health. She suffers from chronic anxiety and a host of other physical complaints associated with mental health issues. Now in her late sixties, she is no longer able to work. Even if she were, she would be highly unlikely to find any paid employment inside the camp. Some IDP’s risk leaving the camp to find work each day, scraping together just enough cash to buy food and essentials. However, against the backdrop of military conflict, work is scarce even outside the camp. It is dangerous too.
With no money to buy basic food or medicine, the inflation caused by conflict in the Middle East has hit hard. There is not even a river nearby, so even bottled water is essential. Hsar is one of tens of thousands of people in the same predicament in Myanmar. Our partners are working tirelessly to bring relief and hope to these dear people by providing aid and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Please pray for Hsar and her family.
