PRAY FOR IRAN

Our partners ministering in Iran have contacted us at this volatile moment in the country’s history. They share their perspective on recent events and urge prayer for the nation.

Credible reports from inside Iran suggest that the unrest at the beginning of the year resulted in a staggering loss of life, with tens of thousands killed, including many women and children. Families across the nation are grieving loved ones. Because of communications blackouts and restrictions on hospitals and families, the full scale of what has happened at that time may not be known for years.

Now, tensions that have long simmered in the region have erupted into open conflict. Military strikes and political upheaval have created a moment of historic uncertainty for the country. For many Iranians, these developments raise challenging questions about the future of their nation and the possibility of meaningful change after decades of oppression and suffering.

Believers inside Iran are praying fervently: for protection for civilians, for wisdom in a time of turmoil, and for a future where the people of Iran can live with dignity, justice, and freedom of conscience.

For the church in Iran, this is a moment that calls for both courage and faithfulness. Christians there are continuing to follow Christ quietly but faithfully, loving their neighbours, supporting one another, and sharing the hope of the gospel amidst the uncertainty and fear.

PRAY WITH US

• Pray for God’s protection over civilians throughout Iran, especially those living in areas affected by unrest and military activity. Ask for mercy for the wounded and comfort for those who are grieving.

• Pray for truth to come to light and for the forces of deception, fear, and oppression to be exposed.

• Pray for wisdom for leaders and for a path toward justice, peace, and genuine freedom for the people of Iran.

• Pray for the church in Iran – that believers would remain steadfast, courageous, and marked by love, even amidst conflict.

• Pray that God would bring about a future for Iran marked by freedom of belief and the flourishing of all its people.

Our partners are continuing to serve Iranian believers and church leaders as best they can. Through theological training and pastoral care, they equip church leaders who can guide believers towards Christ.

If you feel led, please consider supporting this ongoing work. Your generosity enables training, discipleship, and pastoral support that strengthen the Iranian church.
