A Light For Every Language

The need for God’s Word in Asia.

God’s Word speaks of itself in different ways. It is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path. It is the sword of the Spirit, strong enough to stand against temptation and evil. It is spiritual milk, nourishing believers as we grow into salvation. Above all, Scripture is how God has chosen to reveal Himself so that we might know Him, understand our need of salvation, and discover the hope found in Christ. And yet, for millions across Asia, this light remains out of reach.

Worldwide, one in five people are without a complete Bible translation in their own language. Of the 7,396 languages spoken today, only 779 have access to the full canon of Scripture. More than 1,800 have only the New Testament, and around 550 languages have no portion of the Bible at all, with no translation work underway. Behind these numbers are real people. Families, churches, and entire communities longing to hear God speak in the words they understand best.

The need is particularly urgent in Asia. We hear countless stories of people facing the challenge of incomplete or outdated translations, with even church pastors praying for years to receive a usable Bible in their heart language. Others live under restrictions and suppression, where importing or distributing Scripture is illegal or tightly controlled. In these places, God’s Word is considered especially precious.

Providing Bibles in Asia is about seeing lives transformed, faith strengthened, and hope carried into even the most remote or closed regions. Through translation, production, and distribution, God is at work as His people serve Him.

As you turn these pages, you will encounter stories of that work in action. We hope they will inspire you to prayerfully and practically support this crucial work so that one day every Asian person, from every language group, will have access to the Word that brings light, life, and salvation.
