From State radio to new life in Christ!
Yusef was a respected officer in the public security sector in the Middle East. During Ramadan, he hosted daily quiz programs on the national police radio, asking listeners questions from the Qur’an.
One day, when his manager was absent, Yusef had to prepare the questions himself. He thought: “We are a diverse people, including Christians. Why not give them space too?”
So he searched online: How many books are in the Bible? How many chapters? How many verses? Then, boldly, he broadcasted those questions live.

The response was mixed. Some listeners were surprised, others encouraged. But Yusef’s bosses were furious. The next day, he was fired.
Instead of growing bitter, Yusef felt a deep hunger awaken for God’s Word. He travelled to the city, combing through bookstores until he finally found two Bibles. He even tried contacting a priest, but God had another plan.
Through the internet, Yusef connected with our partners. They spent eight hours talking, and for the first time, he understood what it means to be born again. That very night, he knelt and prayed:
“Lord, I deserve hell. Have mercy, forgive me, and change my heart.”
Within a week, Yusef wrote: “I quit smoking three days ago, by the grace of Jesus. Since we prayed together, I feel a strange joy and peace.”
Our partners gave him access to an app allowing him to undertake Bible study courses. In less than a month, he completed 25 courses! His hunger for God’s Word was insatiable. Two months later, he was baptised, testifying that he felt like “the happiest man on earth,” filled with a joy and peace he had never known before.
Now Yusef’s passion is to win souls for Christ.
His story is living proof that God’s Word sets captives free, leads seekers to truth, and creates new hearts in Christ.
