Members of the AsiaLink team recently met with our Iranian partners for a special time of prayer. Please join us in lifting Iran to the Lord in prayer.
The events of recent weeks have seen Iran gripped by chaos. Bombardments have shattered cities, and millions have fled their homes. The air is thick with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. Yet, within the darkness, a fragile but radiant hope persists.
Some Iranians quietly whisper prayers for foreign intervention, wondering if outside powers might bring about regime change. To some, these nations are no longer enemies, but potential liberators.
As daily life collapses under the weight of war, our partners report that the underground church continues its mission discreetly and courageously. House churches gather in secret, offering comfort, food, and prayer to those fleeing violence. Persecution has intensified, with arrests and harsh sentences mounting. Yet believers persist, serving in secret for the glory of God.
One student, already imprisoned once for his faith and now awaiting a new sentence, sent a voice message to his mentor. “Our city is relatively safe,” he said. “We want to open our homes to believers fleeing Tehran… to feed them, shelter them.” Days later, he shared more: “Our city is now full. Some have even set up tents along the beach. We’re planning an outreach to them.” Even as their own freedom is threatened, believers are becoming refuge–givers.
Meanwhile, a symbolic bombing at the gates of Evin Prison, Iran’s most notorious detention centre, stirred the hearts of many. Though it wasn’t meant to free prisoners, it struck a powerful chord. “One day,” said a pastor, “these gates will fall.”
Pray for Iran
• Ask God to protect civilians from harm and trauma.
• Pray for safe shelter and provisions for the millions displaced by the conflict.
• Pray for house church leaders facing increased persecution, arrest, and long prison sentences.
• Give thanks for believers who are opening their homes and sharing food with the displaced.
• Ask that the Lord would bring about greater freedom, justice, and openness to the gospel in Iran.
