Family Matters

Four new believers in Bhutan!

Armad had two wives. With Kiba, he had two daughters and with Lham, he had three. To complicate matters even further, Kiba and Lham are sisters! Despite this strange arrangement, this Buddhist family lived peacefully for many years.

A few years ago, Armad passed away, leaving his two wives and five daughters to provide for themselves. At this point, one of our partners began to minister to them, visiting regularly, praying for them and sharing the gospel.

The Lord began to work and Kiba came to faith, but she kept this a secret, afraid to tell the others until all three of her nieces came to faith as well! Amid the rejoicing, there was a sadness that Lham, and Kiba’s own two daughters were still unsaved. Sadly, family life began to fracture and after many disagreements the believers and the unbelievers parted ways. Each mother became separated from her daughters as Kiba’s daughters left the area along with Lham.

We give joyful thanks for four souls saved in Bhutan! Meanwhile, we ask you to pray that our partner would have further opportunities to witness to the other women, and that this family might experience reconciliation soon.
