Providing warm clothes and warm hearts through the gospel.
You don’t forget a Mongolian winter in a hurry. With temperatures known to plummet as low as –50ºC, life can get very hard, very quickly. Pipes freeze, you wear numerous layers wherever you go, and a stinging sensation takes hold on any skin left exposed in this months–long challenge of survival.
Children from underprivileged homes often live with abusive, alcoholic parents or even no parents at all. They lack sufficient clothing to cope with the harsh Mongolian winter, so they avoid school and struggle to escape the dangers of the home.
You can supply a winter kit to a freezing child this Christmas. Each kit consists of a thermal base layer, a warm outer coat, boots, hat and gloves – essential clothing for children to cope with the cold.
Your gift of a winter kit could also start a gospel conversation. The clothing will be distributed through a local church where eager followers of Christ take every opportunity to share the transforming news of Jesus, enabling the children and their families to hear the heartwarming message of the gospel for the very first time.
Give a winter kit and start a gospel conversation today! Each kit costs £50 but gifts of any amount are gratefully received towards this work.
“I am 14 years old and I live with my mum and my baby brother in a ger [yurt]. I enjoy school, but in the winter it is too cold to walk there. I was very grateful when I was given a free winter kit through a church in my town. Now I can go to school every day!
“The people who gave me the kit also told me about Jesus and I realised that he came to save me. It’s nearly two miles to the church, but I walk there every Sunday in my new warm clothes. It’s my response to being saved by Jesus.”
