The Kingdom of Bhutan is a Buddhist monarchy, and is around the same size as the Netherlands.

Its location in the Himalayas restricts opportunities for economic development, and around a quarter of people live in poverty. Although the nation presents itself as the happiest on earth, many tensions and day-to-day struggles exist beneath the surface.

Religions other than Buddhism are unwelcome, and those of other faiths are denied rights such as state education and even water.

We support the work of evangelists in Bhutan through our Beautiful Feet project. They travel to some of the most remote regions of the Himalayas, reaching people groups many of us have never heard of.

We also support the work of training new leaders for the local church.
